My Story - Sara

The ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) first showed up in my life in a significant way when I was six years old. I trusted Christ as my Savior through a CEF program called 5-Day Club (back yard Bible club, running for 5 consecutive days) which was hosted at my house. I then attended an afterschool CEF Bible club when I was in sixth grade. One day, some family friends, who were also CEF staff and director, came to my house as my sister wanted to go to a CEF camp, where teens are trained to teach the Gospel to children. As I just happened to be there, they handed me a brochure and said that I should go. I agreed thinking it’d be fun and didn’t really know what I was getting myself into. While there, I was pushed way out of my comfort zone and challenged in many ways. And yet, I kept going back. For six years I went back every summer and God used it to transform my heart each time, growing closer to Him and growing a passion to teach children about the hope of the Gospel. I then started working with CEF, first during the summer, then part time on staff during college, then full time, and now back to part time. I thought it was cool that I could get paid for helping to reach the next generation for Christ instead of flipping burgers. God has used CEF in my life to convict me of sin, shatter my comfort zone, and to give me a true desire to know God and spread the Truth of Jesus Christ.
